Situational analysis

Organizations often need horizons mapping, situational analysis, scoping studies, and other types of analyses as part of the process of starting new initiatives. Through a thorough desk review process and key informant interviews, our team can help you put together a rationale on what type of investments are needed in a specific setting.

We can also support your decision-making process about the geographical settings that are most relevant for your work, partners to collaborate with, strategies to prioritize, or donors to be targeted in your fundraising efforts.

Situational Analysis and Stakeholder Mapping in Ethiopia, Uganda, Nigeria, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Zambia

Client: Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG)

Year: 2020

In 2020, RCOG decided to conduct a situational analysis and stakeholder mapping for nine African countries: Sudan, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Ethiopia to understand the current situation on abortion in each of the target countries, including current abortion- related policy, advocacy efforts and activities, key actors (and focus of their work), key donors supporting these initiatives, and networks and coalitions. IWORDS Global was commissioned to conduct this work, through multiple data collection methods.

Experience working with donor mechanisms such as the Safe Abortion Action Fund, The Girls First Fund, Elevate Children, Stars Foundation (Impact Awards), No Lost Generation (through UNICEF), and With and For Girls Awards, among others.
