About us - IWORDS Consulting

Our history

IWORDS Consulting is a specialized unit of IWORDS Global—a social entrepreneurship with over a decade of experience in human rights, development, and sustainability. It aims to strengthen civil society organizations, multilateral agencies, movements, networks, and social responsibility efforts, and support them in their work in reaching the most vulnerable populations. Until 2020, IWORDS Global had a single identity and three institutional units were in charge of the service provision: institutional strengthening, linguistic services, and design. Beginning in 2021, IWORDS Global has become the umbrella company of three specialized units: IWORDS Consulting, IWORDS Communications and IWORDS Grassroots. We are still one company, committed to the highest standard of quality, but this new structure allows us to expand our package of services in the area of communication, social responsibility and as a consultancy firm with expertise in the human rights, development, and humanitarian sectors.

IWORDS Consulting is a leading provider of solutions for social mission-driven organizations, networks, and collectives. Our services include project and programme design, monitoring, evaluation and learning tools, generation of evidence, resource mobilization, and institutional strengthening. The IWORDS Consulting team is comprised primarily by professionals from the Global South, based all over the world. Their expertise comes from supporting stakeholders across the globe. We know first-hand the challenges faced by organizations, agencies, and collectives because we have faced them ourselves. The work of IWORDS Consulting is also supported—as needed—by experts from IWORDS Communications.

IWORDS Communications is a leading provider of high quality, effective, inclusive, context-specific, and culturally appropriate written and visual content. We achieve this by providing specialized language and content development services, communication solutions, and resources on inclusive communication to all stakeholders engaged in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and other global, regional, and local human rights, development, and humanitarian frameworks of action. IWORDS Grassroots is our social responsibility unit. We support locally-led groups in their efforts to create change at community and individual level. We do that through the provision of tailored support on strategic planning, project design, policies and accountability, and monitoring and evaluation.

In the past, our clients have come from over 100 countries, and we love that. We are passionate about diversity and feel it is one of our strongest suits. Our multidisciplinary team has worked with organizations, initiatives, and networks—big and small—throughout Latin America, MENA, Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
